Why Are Dental Implants So Important?

Our natural teeth were created to last for our lifetime. However, many people tend to have cracks, breaks, and decays that affect the lifespan of their teeth. This could lead to missing teeth, deteriorated gums, and mouth odor. Dental implants have become an integral part of traditional tooth replacement.

Dental implants can replace missing teeth, and they’re now the industry standard when it comes to replacing the functionality of decaying teeth.

One of the greatest benefits of implants is that they preserve the bone without affecting the healthy teeth you have on either side of the implant. For anyone looking to restore their natural smile, dental implants are a great option to go with.

What Some Of Our Implant Patients Are Saying

What Exactly Are Dental Implants?

Dental implants are small inserts made of titanium that are attached to the jawbone and capped with crowns to replace any missing teeth. Due to titanium’s compatibility with the bone, after a few months, dental implants are essentially as strong as natural teeth. This allows you to eat, laugh, and enjoy your life just like you did in the very beginning.

Why Should I Choose Dental Implants?

There are many advantages to Dental Implants including:

  • Improved appearance:
Implants feel and look like your natural teeth. They fuse to your bone and become a permanent fixture in your teeth.
  • Improved speech:
Poorly-fitted dentures will slip in your mouth and cause speech issues. A great implant won’t slip, shift, or move. It will allow you to speak naturally and clearly.
  • Improved comfort:
Dental implants are a part of you and will take out any unwanted discomfort.
  • Easier eating:
Since they function like your normal teeth, dental implants ensure that you can eat whatever you like without fear.
  • Improved self-esteem:
By giving you that beautiful smile once more, dental implants make you feel more confident about yourself.
  • Improved oral health:
Your teeth aren’t needed to support dental implants. This means that they are left untouched, allowing you to have long-term oral health. Implants also allow easier access between your teeth when you floss or brush on a daily basis.
  • Durability:
Dental implants will last for years. As long as you care for them, they could be with you for the rest of your life.
  • Convenience:
Dental implants eliminate the need to remove your teeth on a daily basis (like you do with dentures).

Dental Implants Procedure

Dr. White and his team of specialists will ensure that you have the right type of implants and make sure they are the best option for accomplishing your personal needs. For your own comfort, it is important to know that these implants will support any issues you might have with your teeth.

The next step involves the oral surgeons. They will place the implants in the jaw bone and ensure that they are firmly fitted in place. Once completed, Dr. White will create a custom acrylic tooth to fill the gap where the implant was inserted.

After about four months, the surgeon will once again examine the implant to ensure that your bone has bonded with it correctly and that there are no issues. Dr White will then remove the temporary acrylic tooth, make an impression of your teeth, and send the impression off to the lab where they will create your permanent crown. After three to four weeks. You will come back for the final procedure where Dr. White will mount the permanent crown to the implant and then the process will be complete!
