What Some Of Our Dental Crown Patients Are Saying

Dental crowns are tooth-shaped prosthetics that are used to cover the healthy part of your tooth. They ensure to support and balance, while still maintaining a natural appearance. With Dr. White, you get a free consultation that helps get to the root of the problem. From there, he provides the best options for you to choose from and discusses with you which one will fit your needs.

What Is The Dental Crown Application Process

The first part of the procedure is to ensure that your teeth are equipped for a crown and make sure they can provide a stable anchor for your crown to be mounted to. Next, Dr. White may treat your tooth with a special substance to bond to the crown. This ensures that the crown has a solid foundation to sit on. If your tooth is severely damaged, Dr. White might take out portions of it to ensure that the base is solid enough to accommodate the crown.

Next, Dr. White will take a mold of the treated tooth and send it to the laboratory where they will create a custom crown. The technician will ensure that the custom crown is a perfect representation of your tooth and looks 100% natural. The entire process takes about three weeks. During this three week process, Dr. White will provide you with a temporary crown to keep any pain from occurring.

When Dr. White receives your permanent crown back from his lab, he will remove the temporary crown and replace it with the permanent one. This way, he ensures that it fits properly and feels comfortable to you. If there are any last-minute adjustments to be made, Dr. White will make them and ensure that you feel totally comfortable with your permanent crown.

Once the crown is permanently applied, Dr. White will measure your bite to ensure you have the proper jaw alignment and that you feel 100% confident with your bight and your beautiful smile. If there are any minor adjustments you feel may be needed, Dr. White will be able to easily make these adjustments for you on the spot.

Do Dental Crowns Require Special Care?

Dental crowns are permanent and do not require any special floss or toothpaste different from what you use to take care of your natural teeth. However, if you ever experience dental decay around the base of a crown it's important to care for your crown just like your regular teeth to ensure that you don’t get any further tooth damage.

Are Dental Crowns Right For Me?

If you feel any pain in your teeth or are unsure what may have caused the problem, Dr. White asks that you set up a free consultation with him. During your free consultation, you can explain your problem to him, when it started and if it is any different now than before. He will be able to give you his best recommendation as to what needs to be done in order to take care of the issues you may be experiencing.
