Why Do Upper Dentures Have To Cover The Full Palate?

Why do upper dentures have to have acrylic across the roof of your mouth, like so? If he didn't have that, it would be just like a lower denture. You would lose all your suction of the soft and hard palate back here in the back. The same for this little notch behind your last tooth; you lose that. That's what makes it stay in so good. That's what gives it that suckdown when he bite down on it. And it won't come in and out as easily.

Without that, you got a lower denture (without this pallet). Now, you can do the upper denture without the palate if you want to put some kind of implants in there. There you go, but you have to have implants to do it.
